A community recovery tool—not an emergency or police service.
Use BikeBeacon honestly, protect other people’s privacy, and involve local authorities when safety or suspected theft is involved.
Who may use the service
Riders may register bikes they own or are authorized to manage. Finders may post good-faith reports. Organization members must act only for the verified organization and role shown in their workspace. Registration is not legal title, and a verification badge does not replace receipts, police reports, or other proof.
Acceptable use
Do not impersonate an owner, disclose sensitive personal information, harass another user, scrape or bulk-copy records, bypass access controls, upload malicious files, submit fraudulent evidence, use the service to facilitate stolen-property sales, or attempt an unsafe recovery.
Post lifecycle and moderation
Owners and finders can edit, pause, close, or hide a post with a 30-day restoration period. They may instead permanently delete a bike entry or found-bike post immediately; that choice cannot be undone and may be blocked by a documented legal or security hold. Important public revisions may be hidden for moderation before reappearing. BikeBeacon may hide, restore, limit, or remove content, suspend accounts or organizations, and preserve a limited security audit record when needed to protect users or the service.
Organization plans
Free, Pro, and Institutional features are enforced by the current verified billing state. Stripe-hosted checkout and customer portal manage payment details. A past-due Pro subscription receives a seven-day grace period, then returns to Free without deletion of organization data. Institutional plan changes require administrator approval. Live charging remains disabled until the published launch gates are complete.
Safety and availability
Never confront someone or recover a bike alone. Call emergency services for immediate danger and local police for suspected theft. Matches are suggestions, not determinations of ownership. The service may change or experience interruption and cannot guarantee a match, recovery, identity, continuous availability, or preservation outside the published retention schedule.
Service terms version 2026-08-07. Permanent corporate identity and Canadian legal review are required before unrestricted or paid launch.
